I often scroll through Netflix without a film in mind just to see if something catches my eye. The category of ‘Chick Flick’ is rarely something I land on, however when the wife is in charge of the remote that’s normally our first destination.
This week she landed on ‘Walk of Shame’. A film about a well-known news anchor (Elizabeth Banks) who, after a night on the tiles, uncharacteristically spends the night at a strangers house. When she goes to leave, she finds her car has been towed and has no money. Cue a VERY long walk to the car pound to retrieve the aforementioned car so she can get to work to get that all important promotion!
The first part of the movie is a ‘paint-by-numbers’ hot girl goes out drinking, falls head over heels for a barman (James Marsden) and up at his place (at this point I could be talking about any chick flick) and I started to lose interest. Then about halfway through she walks into a crack den, it started to get funny and my attention was once again in this film’s grasp.
As with many films in this genre, you’re not going to get a thought-provoking conversation out of ‘Walk of Shame’ but it turned out to be a pretty funny movie that would be great for a date night.
Did she get her promotion? Well, you’ll just have to watch it and find out.
